CODE OF ETHICS
The following actions are allowed:
- The use of the bathroom facilities.
- With participant's consent, eat the lunch provided by the worker, in the participant's home.
The following actions, at a minimum, are PROHIBITED:
- Use of the participant's car.
- Consumption of the participant's food or drink (except water).
- Discussion of own or other's personal problems, religious or political beliefs with the participant.
- Acceptance of gifts or tips.
- Employees are PROHIBITED from releasing at minimum, the above-mentioned information; violations of this policy include but are not limited to disciplinary action including termination.
- Bringing other persons to the participant's home.
- Consumption of any alcoholic beverages or use of medicine or drugs for any purpose other than your medical needs, in the participant's home or prior to the delivery of services.
- Smoking in the participant's home.
- Solicitation or acceptance of money or goods for personal gain from the participant.
- Breach of the participant's privacy and confidentiality of information and records. Purchase of any item from the participant even at fair market price.
- Residing with the participant in the participant's home or the personal care aides' residence.
- Committing any act of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
- Use of the participant's phone for personal calls.
- Assuming control of personal financial affairs of the participant or both, of the participant or his/her estate including power of attorney, conservatorship, or guardianship.
